What is the Slow Down feature?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Slow Down feature allows you to limit\nthe number of messages sent in the chat room at a given time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, you can limit the message sent by each user in 5-second intervals.<\/p>\n\n\n

This lets you control the influx of messages especially if you have hundreds of live chatters online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why use the feature?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You can use the feature for large communities or events. For instance, if you have thousands of chatters in one chat room, then there might be an influx of messages. To combat this, you can set a time interval on when users can send messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to set up the Slow Down\nfeature?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Login to your admin panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Go to General & Logins<\/em><\/strong> > Advanced<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Scroll down and click “Limit\nsending of messages every second(s).”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Set the time interval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE: You can also enable it for the\nprivate chat (in the Group Chat).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, the chat will refresh and non-admin users will have a limit on the number of messages they can send. This is how it’ll look like:<\/p>\n\n\n

Even if this feature is enabled, the admins can still send messages normally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
