Attach Files and Use Smileys

To upload files, simply click on the paper clip, select the file you want to share, then click “ok.” For more detailed instructions with pictures, see our “How to Upload Files” post.

And to use smileys, simply click on the smiley button at the bottom right of the chat window. Then, select which one you’d like to use. It’s almost the same with the group chat. The only difference is that you’re doing it in the private chat.

You can use this to share important files that you don’t want other users to see. For example, if you’re sharing a business card, important contact, or signed contract with another member.

• Muting the sound
• Muting video display

There are two ways you can use the feature:

1. Record up to thirty seconds video messages and sent it to the public room so the whole group can see it.
2. Record up to thirty seconds of video message solely for private chats.

Whether a public group chat or a private discussion with a moderator or between chatters, you can record a video messages and send it to the chat with the click of a button.

How Video Messages Recording Works

With this special feature you can record all sorts of things, from a custom greeting for everyone who enters the room to see, to a farewell message; or a short explanation of math problem in a chat for students, to a visual illustration of a graph for a group of day traders.

In combination with audio messages, this new feature helps user to interact more within the chat room.

While having a conversation in a chat room, you may need to call the attention of a specific team member. With mentions, simply type the person’s username with an @ before it in your message to grab their attention.

For example: “Hey @John, wondering if you got my message?”

If you @mention someone in a room, their name will be highlighted in blue.

Then, anyone clicking on the name will open a private message window with the person; this of course if private messages are set to “on” for all.

Note: in the event the user has already left the conversation, an empty private message will show.

Here’s a quick recap.

How to post a chat mentions?

1. Type your message in the text box.
2. Type the “@” symbol before the username(s) when addressing a particular user(s). Example: “I like your style @Username!”
3. Click enter to post.
